Make a Smart Start in the College of Engineering

    • DO NOT drop your ENGE 1024 class under any circumstances. All ENGE 1024: Engineering Explorations are now full. If you drop or attempt to change this class, we are unable to assist you until you arrive in August. At that time, it is most likely that we are unable to re-enroll you into this course for the fall semester because of the high-demand and limited seating. If you have questions or concerns about your schedule you may email us for assistance.
  • Also, due to the high campus-wide demand and limited seating in your MATH, CHEM/CHEM Lab, and ENGLISH classes - DO NOT make any changes to these courses on your schedule. To ensure your success in your first year, we enroll you in these courses in advance and cannot guarantee that a dropped courses can be reinstated because of the high-demand.
  • If you were unable to attend on-campus freshman orientation sessions, you are strongly encouraged to meet with an academic advisor and obtain your orientation packet from us when you arrive in August.

The Ware Lab is Engineering in Action

Freshman students are welcomed and encouraged to become involved in the College of Engineering's hand's-on laboratory - the airplaneWare Lab. With projects managed by College of Engineering students and advised by respected faculty throughout the college, these projects involve multiple facets of engineering. Engineering students work together in teams, which are often multidisciplinary, under the direction of engineering faculty and graduate students.

We encourage students to get as much experience as possible - volunteering in hands-on projects as early as your freshman year. Students with hands-on project experience are highly recruited for co-ops, internships, and full-time positions.

You are invited to stop by the Ware Lab during your visit to campus. Summer hours for the lab vary. If you would like to visit the lab during your stay or would like more information about project opportunities, please email the Ware Lab. If you are unable to visit the lab during your stay, you may view a short introduction to the Ware Lab and experience "Engineering in Action."
